About the Artist
Laurie Julia (b. Paris, France) grew up on New York City’s Upper West Side and attended the High School of Music and Art. She obtained a BFA in painting from Boston University and an MFA in painting from Tyler School of Art (Temple University) in Philadelphia and Rome.
Since 1985, Laurie has lived in Miami creating art, and served for many years as Artist in Residence at the Miami Jewish Home. She occasionally worked as adjunct faculty at the New World School. Her work was represented by the Barbara Gillman Gallery for many years, and is included in the collections of Broward Art in Public Places, Cleveland Clinic, Jacksonville Museum and BellSouth, as well as many private collections. She has exhibited in numerous shows in South Florida.
Laurie’s media includes painting, drawing and recently collage.
