About the Artist
Judith Holt Behrmann was raised in Cazenovia, New York and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, PA. After graduating Judith traveled to Rome, Italy where she studied sculpture at the L’Acacdemia de Belle Arte for one year. Upon returning to the states she settled in Boston, Ma. and taught art in the Boston City School system. While photographs and sketches are useful to Judith in creating her art, she employs live models for her portrait work and is interested in capturing the energy and spirit of each individual. As a resident of Haiti and South Florida, Judith has been inspired by the flamboyant colors and diverse textures of the tropics which is revealed in her large floral compositions.
