About the Artist
Based in Miami, Alex, for the most part, is a self taught artist with an associate degree in animation from the Ft lauderdale school of Arts. Although his overall body of work in painting and sculpture emphasizes a realistic style, his use of color defies that label. In his most recent works with portraits, he uses color to define the individual’s mood. In addition, the juxtapositioning and layering of seemingly unrelated color combinations highlights the imperfect nature of each individual’s humanity.
Artist Statement
My goal for the immediate future is to continue working in portraiture, still life and landscape using various mediums such as acrylics, pastels, oil and sculpture.
